July News
Letter
Summer
is with us and long may it stay warm and sunny although
knowing British weather it may have already changed as
you read this.
First and formost GDC
re-registration:-
All
nurses will now have received a reminder from the GDC to
re-new registration before the end of July. If you want
to remain working as a dental nurse you must re-register
NOW!
We know
there are dentists that use non-registered nurses and
nurses that are not trained but they claim they are
“under training” – this is not acceptable unless they can
show proof to the GDC inspectors who will be making spot
checks. This also includes the corporate companies who
can hide behind moving their staff around to other
surgeries.
Infection Control & Health
& Safety
All
nurses must arrive at a surgery to work in their outdoor
clothes NOT their clinical uniforms. I realise that some
surgeries do not have a changing room or a staff room but
there is always the washroom. Another GDC guide-line and
agency nurses must be seen to set an
example.
It is
also advisable to arrive at any surgery BEFORE the start
time so that you can familiarise yourself with the many
new GDC infection control guidelines. Get to know where
everything is kept and how to strerilise and disinfect.
If you do not know ASK. I realise that sometimes the
surgery permanent staff are not always helpful but it is
for your benefit. Sadly we know that if something is
wrong or something goes missing it is all too easy to
blame the agency nurse.
Sorry to moan – you all do a great job and we
are proud of the good reputation that we have built with
Molaris. Our clients are very grateful for our support and we
continue to have new clients week by
week.
Surgery Printing
Service
Our printing service continues to attract interest to
surgeries looking for printing, web page design, or in cases
with large foreign communities a translation service for
surgery information leaflets. The ASK
Group to provides a fully comprehensive printing
service. What is different? ASK is a
fully digitised service. This means that orders for stationary
are made in smaller quantities and changes that have occurred
since the last printing can be made without cost! The result is
smaller quantities therefore saving office space, improved cash
flow, and include changes to text or artwork together with an
overnight service.
Additionally ASK provides a
translation service. Therefore if your practice has a large
ethnic group you can advise your details in that particular
language.
Another service is web page design and if required, hosting.
Many dental practices with a large private patient base
advertise their surgery and speciality on the web.
ASK can provide a full package that
includes site optimisation. i.e. a top Google placing for your
key words for example:- search "orthodontics Bristol" and your
patient will land on page one of Google.
Dental practices who have used our nursing cover will
appreciate our efficiency and attention to detail. We can
promise the same efficient service with your printing. Just
call the office 01291 423978 and ask (no pun intended) for
details.
